Hi, my pen name is James Carnarvon and I am a UK-based writer.

I have been writing intermittently since childhood, when I was given early encouragement by my teachers, friends and family to keep developing my writing skills.

Over the years I have written short genre stories and have dabbled in factual writing and the murky waters of online fan fiction.

The Summer of the Firefly is my first full-length novel. It combines my love of Italy with a touch of romance and the struggle to find your identity in adolescence. They say you should never publish your first novel, but the story is important to me and who knows, the issues it raises may have meaning for other people too.

Because I am an unknown writer, I will be publishing my first novel online for free. Writing, for me, was never about the money.
